Tony is joined by Kevin Harms of Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF) and Mohamad Chaarwi of Intel to discuss how the open source Distributed Asynchronous Object Storage (DAOS) project will enable world class I/O performance on the Aurora Exascale Supercomputer.

Kevin Harms is a team lead of the ALCF's Performance Engineering group. His interests include working on high performance storage and I/O.
Mohamad Chaarawi is a senior software engineer in the DAOS group at Intel. He is responsible for the DAOS client library and other middleware IO libraries and application porting over the DAOS stack.

Environmental sustainability should be one of the most important considerations of technology going forward. Cloud and on-prem data centers consume a significant amount of energy, which maps to a signficant carbon footprint. This month, we will be focusing on how developers can affect environmental sustainability by using a variety of efforts and technologies.
Niki Manoledaki is a software engineer who works with the CNCF to advocate for cloud-native environmental sustainability by contributing to the CNCF Environmental Sustainability Technical Advisory Group. She is also a Maintainer of the GitOps WG.
Marlow Weston is a Cloud Software Architect at Intel specializing in resource management. She is co-chair of the CNCF Environmental Sustainability Technical Advisory Group. She’s also worked on MLOps, firmware, drivers, HPC cluster tools, and I/O HPC libraries.
